On 11 and 12 June 2024, the annual meeting of the Espacio CPI Salud<\/em> took place in Seville, Spain. The format of the CPI<\/em> – Innovative Public Bidding<\/em> – offers a unique opportunity for innovation in Spain. The Espacio <\/em>CPI Salud<\/em> promotes the impact of the funds allocated to innovation, creates spaces for interaction, trains professionals and strengthens innovators in public health at a national level.<\/span><\/p>\n

As part of the Espacio <\/em>CPISalud,<\/em> PGXperts presented together with its consortium partners Illumina and Life & Brain, the success story of the MedeA project. The MedeA project was launched by the Extremadura Health Service (SES) to provide personalised medicines to the citizens of the Spanish province. This pioneering project entered the clinical validation phase in November 2023. It should be available to the population of Extremadura from January 2025.<\/span><\/p>\n

The potential benefits are enormous: a reduction in the side effects of medication and a significant improvement in the quality of life for the citizens of Extremadura.<\/p>\n

The MedeA project is unique in the world because it makes personalised medicine available to an entire region and thus represents a milestone in healthcare in Europe.<\/p>\n
