A transparent network makes patient-centered healthcare data intersectoral and accessible across all phases of care. Patients and healthcare providers benefit from this equally. At the same time, users, operators and manufacturers are faced with the challenge of having to meet ever-increasing regulatory requirements and standards for IT and data security. In this challenging environment, we have already been able to realize two major projects: The development of particle therapy in a consortium and the highly innovative PGXperts system.

Personalized Medication

In the near future, personalized medication will make it possible to provide each patient with the right medication, in the right dose and at the right time.

The PGXperts System supports healthcare professionals to review complex medication scenarios based on the determination of drug interaction risks and risk factors in drug therapy. In addition, interpreting a patient’s genetic profile with regard to their individual medication enables a personalized pharmacotherapy. The application of pharmacogenetics is based on two pillars: the insights gained from comprehensive databases containing evidence-based information from basic medical research and applied studies, and the use of this knowledge in clinical routine—supported by state-of-the-art information technology.

With the PGXperts system, PGXperts enables Personalized Medication through three core factors: taking into account the individual pharmacogenetic characteristics of the patient, managing the complexity in the interpretation of genetic data and providing relevant information to support an integrated medication process.

The PGXperts system is a comprehensive clinical decision support system for reviewing complex medication scenarios. It takes into account the patient’s individual genetic predisposition in terms of metabolism, transport, and hypersensitivity, as well as their specific medication and dosage, lifestyle, and accompanying risk factors. With this innovative solution, PGXperts GmbH supports customized pharmacotherapy. The PGXperts system was spun off from HMG Systems Engineering GmbH into PGXperts GmbH at the beginning of 2024.
