Herna Muñoz-Galeano has been a successful entrepreneur since 1998. She is the founder and CEO of HMG Systems Engineering GmbH, which was formed in 2014 from a merger of her two previous companies.
Herna’s approach is characterised by her focus on translating scientific findings into innovative products and systems. She focuses on the optimisation of the development process of complex technical systems. The use of a “Functional Anatomy” approach facilitates rapid and accurate assessment of test processes and ensures integration.
With over 25 years of experience in the conception, development and maintenance of complex IT systems, she has been able to successfully manage numerous large-scale international software projects in Germany, Sweden, Spain, Colombia, Brazil, the Netherlands and the United Kingdom. As an engineer and computer scientist she has always been interested in pioneering innovations in the IT industry, primarily in the fields of telecommunications, mobility, medical technology and energy.
In 2016, Herna Muñoz-Galeano was honoured by Deutsche Messe AG with the Engineer PowerWoman 2016 award for her successful career as an engineer and computer scientist.
In September 2018, she was selected for the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Program™ 2018/19 in D-A-CH and also represented Germany in the EY Entrepreneurial Winning Women Europe Program™ 2019.
In their series Heroes of small and medium-sized enterprises ( Helden des Mittelstands ) 2020, WirtschaftsWoche honored the entrepreneurial achievements of Herna Muñoz-Galeano.
